Wood Floor installation or
refinishing check list
Having a new hardwood floor installed or refinished will require some planning. During this process the work area can be noisy and hazardous. Some of the finishing products may put off toxic fumes. Plan ahead; at times the work area will not be accessible (medication in the fridge or in the medicine cabinet, food, water, ect). Don't forget your coffee pot!
Depending on the product you choose for finishing, the fumes can be hazardous or even deadly to small animals (birds, fish, reptiles, ect).
Install:
Make sure all furniture, breakables (wall hangings, mirrors, ect) are removed from work area
Arrange for all old flooring to be removed

Leave a path thru your home to work area
Designate a place in your home where your new wood will be stored prior to installation (warm and dry)

All of the install hints plus these:
